No, I’m not going to belt out some Victor Hugo. I will, though, let you in on the dream that I had last night, which was entertaining, if not somewhat strange.
A group of friends, myself included decided to go out for Chinese. We decided on a new local restaurant that we had never been to before. The inside was dark, but the walls were covered with red velvet and golden sculptural elements. We were all seated at long table by a waiter. Someone made note that he had a long eyelash, or something hanging out of his eye. He chuckled a bit and pulled on it. It was not an eyelash, but a string. He pulled it out and then promptly snuffed it back up his nose. With a cough it came back out his eye, and he, much to most people’s horror at the table, pulled at it on both ends creating a flossing like motion. I was amazed, mainly because I noted the string came out of the outside corner of his eye, not the inside corner like I would have expected.
Flash forward to a giant commotion in the room over from us followed by very loud music. The waiter informed us that our table was actually back-stage. The wall between us and the next room became transparent as lights came up on the opposite side and we could see that we were indeed backstage. We all were allowed to go through a secret door to the side to view the almost empty theater. We could either stay on that side and watch the show or stay at the table and have the “dinner show”.
The dinner show consisted of food being brought out buffet style, though served in crock-pots. As the dishes were brought out, the chef would sing a song about the meal. The songs were usually rhymes about ingredients and nutritional values of the foods being served. I never got to taste any of the foods, because in the middle of the food presentation, I woke up.
I know dreams are important, and I do actually put stock into dreams trying to explain to our waking self things that we need to work on, deal with or explore. For as much as I want to understand things in my dreams, I just can’t “get” them like I can dreams I hear from other people.
Do you, my lover-ly readers see anything about this dream you understand?
