The blocks are coming along. I never thought with so many color combinations I’d have to worry about repeating myself, but I’m obsessively looking through what I’ve made to make sure that I don’t make the same type of block the same way.
To build the blocks I’m making 5 1/2″ fussy cuts, and surrounding them with 1 1/2″ strips of various colors. Each of the blocks will be surrounded by two color borders, then I’m going to set those in a slightly larger (2″) black border before joining each square together. That should put each block at roughly 12 inches square when finished. I’ll be setting the quilt blocks in a 5 x 6 pattern, making the quilt roughly 60″ x 72″ when finished. Slightly larger than a throw, but smaller than a twin blanket.
